CON LIMA DOMINATES IN GULFSTREAM PARK’S HONEY RYDER S.

Con Lima found the winner’s circle for third time in 2021 with a commanding four-length win in Saturday’s Honey Ryder S. over the Gulfstream Park turf course.

The 3-year-old filly, who Eaton Sales consigned to the 2019 Keeneland September Yearling sale for Victor Centeno, won the Herecomesthebride S. (G3) and Ginger Brew S. both over the same course, earlier this year.

Con Lima broke well from her outside post in the field of seven and was head-to-head for the lead with Por Que No going around the first turn. Por Que No held a slight advantage down the backstretch, but Con Lima came on even terms with her on the turn, then asserted herself coming into the stretch. Bounding away from the field Con Lima was far ahead of runner-up Karakatsie in the final furlong, finishing the 1 1/16-miles on the “good” turf in 1:40.57.

Con Lisa races for Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners, Joseph F. Graffeo, Eric Nikolaus Del Toro and Troy Johnson. She is trained by Todd Pletcher and is now an excellent 5-4-0 in 10 starts and has earned $269,865. She was bred by Lisa Kuhlmann and is out of the stakes winner Second Street City.
