JAXON TRAVELER GOES GATE-TO-WIRE IN OAKLAWN’S $200,000 BACHELOR S.

Jaxon Traveler shot to the lead and never looked back, rolling to a 2 3/4-length victory in Saturday’s $200,000 Bachelor S. at Oaklawn Park.

The 3-year-old son of Munnings, consigned and sold by Eaton Sales for $80,000 at the 2019 Keeneland September Yearling sale, has now won four of five starts by a combined 17 lengths and earned $270,762 for West Point Thoroughbreds and Marvin Delfiner. The colt’s lone loss was by a head in the Gazebo last month at Oaklawn.

Like he did in each of his three victories, Jaxon Traveler broke very sharply to immediately assume command. He led the field through quick fractions of :22.41 for the quarter-mile and :45.89 for the half. Despite the early hot pace, he widened his lead in the stretch to finish the six furlongs on a fast track in 1:10.07.

Jaxon Traveler was bred in Maryland by Dr. and Mrs. A. Leonard Pineau. His dam Listen Boy was stakes-placed at three and is a half-sister to stakes winners Inspeightofyou and Monzon.
